Colour Factory's 3rd birthday bash: a celebration of music, culture, and community
East London's iconic venue set to host an unmissable fiesta in August with Prícipe, 2CPerrea, EPOKA, Lighter Dance, and Baile Ijo.
The East London Institute Colour Factory is gearing up for an extravagant celebration of its third birthday. Situated in the vibrant Hackney Wick, the venue has become a cornerstone for East London's dance enthusiasts and beyond. Known for its eclectic lineup of DJs, live acts, and collectives, Colour Factory has consistently delivered sold-out events featuring prominent names such as Boilerroom and Queens Yard Summer Party. With the addition of a picturesque outdoor terrace and a robust residency program, 2024 has already been a landmark year for the venue. On 10 August Colour Factory will host a 12-hour fiesta, featuring performances by Prícipe, 2CPerrea, EPOKA, Lighter Dance, and Baile Ijo.
The celebration will kick off with a dynamic face-off between EPOKA and Lighter Dance in the garden, setting the tone for the day. EPOKA, led by Bushbby and Papaoul, will bring high-energy, percussive sounds inspired by diasporic rhythms and underground club music. Lighter Dance, created by art director and DJ Kemarr alongside musician and poet James Massiah, will merge dancehall-adjacent sounds with global club music. Joining them for this electrifying showdown will be Miami-based Latin dance music powerhouse MJ Nebreda. As night falls, 2CPerrea will take over with their high-octane Perreo party, crafted by Latinx queer individuals in London.
The main event in the heart of Colour Factory will be hosted by the renowned Afro-Portuguese label Prícipe, featuring some of the finest talents from the Afro-Portuguese music scene. Rising star DJ Danifox, known for his unique blend of tarraxo, kuduro, and Lisbon ghetto sounds, will be performing alongside influential producer DJ Lycox and the “silky, space soul” sounds of Nuno Beats. In addition to the stellar musical lineup, attendees can expect a variety of surprises, including a bucking bronco and a bouncy castle, ensuring a day filled with excitement and joy. This celebration encapsulates what Colour Factory represents: a diverse hub of international culture and music, offering a unique and inclusive clubbing experience in London.
