Feels Like June is an oasis amongst the chaos and looming towers of Canary Wharf. The Californian-inspired restaurant describes itself as having a ‘Europe meets West Coast flair’ which we can attest to after having spent a gorgeous evening there.

The outdoor seating area is nestled amongst greenery and twinkly fairy lights giving it a sense of privacy and calm, likewise the interior is gorgeous with the green theme continuing inside with hanging, trailing plants everywhere. It feels fresh and like a proper respite from the concrete jungle that is some parts of Canary Wharf.

The all-day menu is extensive featuring popular small plates such as halloumi, burrata, mac n cheese alongside a variety of salads, bowls, tacos, steaks, burgers, side dishes of fries, salads and other vegetables. Essentially this is the perfect place if you’re going out to eat with people with lots of different dietary requirements or fussy eaters – they will have something for everyone.

We sampled a range of their vegetarian dishes, and our favourites included the mac & cheese, the fried taco, the buttermilk cauliflower, and surprisingly the gem lettuce salad – there was something very moreish about that buttermilk ranch dressing.

Likewise, their brunch menu is full of options including the usual avocado toast, but also vegan smash burgers, Caesar salad and brunch burritos. It also features an extensive drinks list including lots of different coffees, teas, smoothies, but of course also cocktails if you wanted a more extravagant brunch affair.

Ironically, we visited in June and the weather was glorious meaning we sat outside for hours, dining, drinking wine, and chatting. The staff were attentive and warm, but not invasive at all, so much so that we probably spent about four hours here enjoying the warm evening breeze and laid-back European holiday vibe – they even had blankets and heaters if it got a bit chilly.

The stereotypes of Canary Wharf as a business area full of city workers was vastly different of how it felt at this eatery. It was slow-paced – whereby you didn’t feel rushed to inhale your food and be on your way – and relaxed, surrounded by gorgeous green tones and soft lighting, oh and of course the food is delicious too!
