The London Philharmonic Orchestra (LPO) is set to give the UK debut of Heiner Goebbels' A House of Call, a unique musical composition that incorporates old recordings from Goebbels' travels and archival research into orchestral instruments. The composition also challenges the traditional hierarchy of the orchestra, with the conductor rotating with the orchestra and standing in the corner of the stage. This innovative piece inspires the idea of concert venues as public spaces for artistic expression, rather than just for performances of pre-written works by composers.
