Award-winning musician Celeste will headline Tate Modern Late event on 28 June 2024, in an exclusive performance celebrating light and film. Partnering with US-based artist Anthony McCall, Celeste will take over the South Tank for a one-night-only experience, combining her soulful vocals with McCallโs mesmerising 16mm projector displays. This collaboration promises a glorious fusion of music and visual art, offering audiences a unique theatrical encounter.
Tate Modern Lates offer a monthly opportunity for art enthusiasts to come together and immerse themselves in an evening of arts and culture. The upcoming event in June will shine a spotlight on Anthony McCall's pioneering light sculptures, coinciding with the opening of his solo exhibition at Tate on June 28, 2024. Attendees will have the chance to experience McCall's dynamic creations through films such as Five Minute Drawing, while engaging discussions led by industry experts will delve into the profound impact of light in art. Interactive workshops, DJ sets, and the Swatch Social space will also be on hand, contributing to the iconic atmosphere that Tate Lates are known for.

Admission to the Late is free, but tickets are required for entry to the exhibitions, including YOKO ONO MUSIC OF THE MIND, Zanele Muholi, Expressionists: Kandinsky, Mรผnter and The Blue Rider, and Anthony McCall, which will also remain open late.

Celeste x Anthony McCall
Catch an exclusive collaboration between singer-songwriter Celeste and artist Anthony McCall. For one night only the artists takeover the South Tanks with a theatrical performance blending music, film and light. Celeste will perform her latest work alongside McCallโs Projector.

Films and Conversation: Illuminating the Invisible with Somesuch
Join Somesuch to delve into immersive filmmaking with a programme exploring light and motion, featuring screenings from Caleb Femi, Duncan Loudon and Tajana Tokyo. The screening will be accompanied by conversations with the artists.

Anthony McCall โ Five Minute Drawing / Gordon Matta Clark โ Conical Intersect
In McCallโs film the artist performs his Five-Minute Drawing. Conical Intersect documents artist Matta-Clark's 1975 work when the artist carved a slice from two abandoned houses in Les Halles. The cut, shaped like a twisted cone, was inspired by McCall's Line Describing a Cone.
