Embark on a nostalgic journey as St. James's Hotel & Club launches Throwback Thursdays, a celebration of the 1980s.
St. James's Hotel & Club invites guests to indulge in a nostalgic journey with their Throwback Thursdays, a celebration of the 1980s. We attended the spectacular launch event and were treated to an authentic and immersive experience that truly captured the essence of this throwback era.
Every Thursday from 5.30 pm to 7.30 pm, guests can savour tasty bites inspired by the culinary culture of the 1980s. Executive Chef William Drabble, a highly acclaimed Michelin star recipient, has crafted a menu of canapรฉs and small plates that pay homage to iconic flavours of the time. From posh Spam fritters to vol-au-vents with chicken and morels, homemade sausage rolls, mini shepherd's pie, toad in the hole, and an array of seafood nibbles, each dish takes you on a delightful journey back to the eccentricity and flamboyance of the era.

The ambiance at the hotel was elegant and refined, featuring a marble bar, gold accents, and plush velvet sofas in sage green and pastel pink tones. The attention to detail was impeccable, evident in the carefully curated collection of artworks that adorned the Seven Park Place Bar & Lounge. Upon our arrival, we were delighted with a glass of champagne, and the talented bartenders showcased their expertise by skillfully crafting classic cocktails such as Cosmopolitans, Tom Collins, and Manhattans. However, the true standout was their Negroni, a mesmerising spectacle in which billowing smoke gracefully escaped from the cup as the lid was lifted, perfectly complementing the exciting 1980s theme.
Located on Park Place in the prestigious St. James's neighbourhood, St. James's Hotel & Club boasts a rich history of hosting esteemed guests, including Winston Churchill, Henry James, Ian Fleming, Sean Connery, Liza Minnelli, and Samuel L.
