Eat Out to Help Out: top 5 in food
The government’s new ‘Eat Out to Help Out’ Scheme came into effect on the 3 August and will last through to the end of the month, giving people 50% off their bill at thousands of restaurants across the country. For example, a family of four will be able to save £40 on a meal previously worth £80. The government will pick up the remaining £40 of the bill. No vouchers are required to take advantage of the scheme.
This scheme is designed to encourage support for restaurants that have been struggling during the lockdown and will be in operation from Monday – Wednesdays at participating establishments, and is only applicable to those eating in. You can find out which restaurants are participating in the scheme by searching the postcode of the area – all businesses within a two-mile radius that are offering the discount will be highlighted. This week we have a round-up of some of our favourite restaurants participating in the scheme.
