Exhibitions to see in London in October 2022

We have put together exhibitions to see in London this October, from the first solo exhibition by the acclaimed artist who painted the official portrait of Michelle Obama to the annual Frieze London which brings together over 280 galleries from 42 countries.

Nancy Spero- Dancers & Goddesses - Frith Street Gallery

#FLODown: If figurative paintings and dancing is your thing then this is for you! Focussing on a particularly productive time for the artist, 1984–96, Dancers & Goddesses shows the dynamic range of Spero’s β€˜pantheon’ of figures, including athletes, mourners, dancers and goddesses.

Amy Sherald - The World We Make - Hauser & Wirth 

When: 12th October  - 23rd December 2022

Where: 23 Savile Row, London W1S 2ET

#FLODown: Sherald is acclaimed for her official portrait of Michelle Obama in 2017 and that of other Black Americans. This exhibition will focus on these portraits and marks the artist’s first solo show in Europe.

Frieze London & Frieze Masters  - Regents Park

Reggie Khumalo - Thriving - Chilli Art Projects

#FLODown: The first solo exhibition of self-taught African artist, Reggie Khumalo. Khumalo uses his art as a vehicle for social change, using rich tones and bold colours which focus on self knowledge and empowerment, showing how individuals have the power to effect change and empower their communities. 

Leon Wuidar - White Cube Masons Yard 

When: 7th September  - 8th October 2022
