How you can help during the lockdown

There are several ways you can help or get help during these uncertain times. We have put together some of the organisations and groups you can volunteer for or those offering support throughout the city.

True to form, London is stepping up during these uncertain times, and we are proud to call this our city!

C19 Assist 

#FLODown: C19 Assist provides an online service that connects vulnerable people who are unable to leave their homes with nearby volunteers, who can help with tasks such as buying groceries. Visit their website if you can provide help or require some assistance.

 

Local Small Businesses

#FLODown: Local Small Business has been set up to support local independent businesses going through difficult times by offering vouchers for some of your favourite bars and restaurants, to be redeemed when they reopen in the future. Visit their website to purchase your vouchers.

Addison Lee 

#FLODown: Addison Lee are offering free rides to NHS staff, as part of their ‘Donate a Ride Campaign’. Addition Lee have donated £50,000 to the fund, anything you can donate will go towards providing these free rides. Visit their website now to donate a ride. 

 

 

Team London 

 #FLODown: Team London is open to an organisation needing support and those looking to volunteer in their local community. Visit the Mayor of London website to discover volunteering opportunities or seek assistance now.  

  

Free School Meals

 #FLODown: Qoot restaurant group is offering free meals to school children who qualify for free meals from the government. These free meals will be available to collect at 12 restaurant locations across the capital, Monday to Friday for the duration of school closures. Qoot restaurant group includes restaurants such as Dominique Ansel Bakery, CHLOE and The Lebanese Bakery. Visit their website for more details.



City Harvest

#FLODown: City Harvest helps distribute food to organisations that feed the elderly and vulnerable. At present, they require food, funding and volunteers to help distribute food. Visit their website for more details.

 Beauty Banks 

#FLODown: Beauty Banks have a GoFundMe page to help provide emergency hygiene parcels that will help protect those who can’t afford to take extra precautions to help keep themselves safe during the pandemic. These emergency parcels will include, soap, body wash, hand wash, hand sanitiser and laundry detergent.

  

South London Cares

 #FLODown: South London Cares has launched a crowdfunding appeal to enable the charity to support older people in Southwark and Lambeth to stay connected during this time of crisis.
