#FLODown: Tate Modern presents the first major exhibition of Turner Prize-winning artist and Oscar-winning filmmaker Steve McQueen. The exhibition features 14 major works spanning across film, photography and sculpture. The exhibition includes his first film that was shot on a Super 8 camera, Exodus 1992/97, and the more recent End Credits 2012–on-going. 

With a body of work that spans two decades, this exhibition is not one to be missed!

Steve McQueen: Year 3 at Tate Britain

#FLODown: Steve McQueen invited every Year 3 pupil in London to have their photograph taken by a team of specially trained Tate photographers. This included children from state primaries, independent schools, faith schools, special schools, pupil referral units and home-educated pupils.

The photos taken have been are brought together into a single large-scale installation. An interesting and inspirational exhibition, to say the least, exploring this milestone year in the development of tens of thousands of Year 3 pupils!

Slice of Time by Emmanuelle Moureaux

#FLODown:Emmanuel Moureaux presents her colourful immersive exhibition titled ‘Slice of Time’. This is the first time that Moureaux is displaying her large-scale installation of cut out coloured paper in the UK. The exhibition is colourful, immersive and gives you a chance to wander through layers of numbers in 100 shades of colours and white. These represent the past and future and encourages you to challenge your thoughts on our time here on earth.

Orchid Festival at Kew Gardens

#FLODown: This weekend marks the start of the Orchid Festival at Kew Gardens. This year’s festival focuses on the landscape of Indonesia, featuring displays inspired by the wildlife and plant diversity of the country. The festival gives a taste of the vibrant culture of Indonesia – the sights, the smells and the sounds. This is the ideal activity for a weekend in London and will get you excited for spring.

 Ticketed time slots for the festival must be booked in advance and include entrance to the gardens.

Battersea Power Station Light show

#FLODown: This is the final weekend of Battersea Power Stations Light festival; it’s commissioned by Light Art Collection, the team behind the Amsterdam Light Festival! The Battersea’s Power Station Light Festival offers four immersive light installations including interactive neon signs, 140 filtered fluorescent tubes, and two heads showing human emotions by the Light Art Collection. 

To add to all this fluorescent fun, BPS is running a competition with dinner for two up for grabs. For your chance to win, share your photos and tag @batterseapwrstn and use hashtag #BPSLightFest. Good Luck!

#LeakeStreetLive: Valentines Special 

When?

Thursday 13th February – 15th February 2020   

#FLODown: Leake Street Live returns on Thursday 13th February with a series of cool Valentine's day inspired graffiti workshop run by SoFLy. Attendees will get a chance to work on Valentines themed murals, accompanied by live music from talented musicians from Busk London’s roster of emerging talent.

There are also plenty of bars and restaurants in the tunnel and surrounding area to indulge in after the workshops are finished.

Thursday 13th  session is open to all relationship statuses, Friday 14th will be designed for couples and Saturday 15th for singles.

Pophams x Mulberry LFW Pop Up

LFW Positive Fashion Designer Exhibition

New Opening: Padella 

When? 

The restaurant opens its doors on 13th February 2020

#FLODown: Well-known to have one of London’s longest queues, this key fixture in Borough Market Road is opening its second restaurant in Shoreditch. Offering a menu of delicious fresh made pasta.

 The new location will still operate on a strictly walk-ins only policy. But it is completely delicious and affordable, and so completely worth the time spent queuing.
