#FLOFavourite: WAVE (We Are Vegan Everything)
What’s the deal?
Tucked away in an unassuming little cul-de-sac just off Mare Street, We Are Vegan Everything aka WAVE is Hackney’s newest vegan restaurant.
The power duo behind WAVE, Cait and Soph, are well established in the vegan scene; you might have even heard of their vegan pop-up bakery, ‘Cupcakes and Shht’. The newest addition to the east-London food scene can serve you up a delicious plate of tofu scramble, tempeh pancakes, or spirulina bowls, with a delicious booch shot or oat milk latte to wash it down with.
WAVE offers a delicious all-day menu. You can enjoy some smoky maple tempeh pancakes for breakfast, or experiment with a vegan salmon and cream cheese bagel for lunch. They also have a plethora of sweet treats - enough to make you dribble - from brownies to gooey chocolate chip cookies. You can enjoy your food in the comfort of a bamboo chaise lounge, comfy cushions and a very trendy amount of foliage.
What to eat?
Mac and Cheese
This mac and cheese is one of the best we have ever tasted, topped with house-made coconut bac’n, crispy onions, black sesame seeds with a sprinkling of nutritional yeast - you won’t want to eat anything else! Good for your belly and good for the planet.
Price: £10 (+ £2 to add kimchi)
‘Salmon’ Bagel
This tasty salmon bagel is stuffed with homemade nori soaked carrots and cream cheese, sprinkled with smoked salt, black sesame seeds, watercress and dill. The nori soaked carrots are tender, tasty and look just like salmon.
Price: £6
#FLODown: What we love most about WAVE besides their heavenly food is the cosy outdoor offering attached to the restaurant. This outdoor space features hanging rattan chairs, rugs and cosy cushions for floor dining. WAVE feels so homely, we can almost guarantee you won't want to leave! You also have to try their health shakes; the ‘Mango Lassi’ with mango, coconut milk and turmeric is ridiculously good.
