Greenwich's Urban Village Fete returns this May with headline DJs and creative workshops

Londoners looking for a vibrant and free festival experience should mark their calendars for Sunday 19 May, as the Urban Village Fete makes its anticipated return to Greenwich Peninsula. International superstar DJs Gilles Peterson and Jamz Supernova will headline the festival, offering a mix of music, creative workshops, and a unique twist on the traditional summer fete. Known for its alternative and contemporary take on community gatherings, the Urban Village Fete has become one of London's must-attend events in the summer calendar, offering festival goers a day filled with interactive workshops, global cuisine, and dancing under the sky.
The festival boasts a lineup of activities and performances, including the Design District's 'Creative Conversations' hosted by BBC London's Robert Elms, the return of The Incredibly Clever Canine Circus, and the Charity Shop DJ collective's People's Party where the audience selects the tunes. From carnival workshops to the alternative Olympics, featuring events like Show Jumping and Hurl the Pineapple, attendees can expect a day filled with entertainment for all ages.
Additionally, the festival will feature interactive workshops like the Doodle Apartment and Wonky Veg Sculpture competition in the Urban Village Hall, showcasing the cutting-edge creativity that defines London's Design District. With an Independent Traders Market, live puppet shows, toy-making workshops, and a variety of food options, the Urban Village Fete promises a day of fun, creativity, and community spirit.
