Wandsworth Arts Fringe returns for its 14th year, offering an incredible lineup of over 130 inspiring events spread across 17 unforgettable days in June 2023.
Wandsworth Arts Fringe (WAF) returns for its 14th year, promising a vibrant lineup that will leave audiences laughing, inspired, and in awe. Renowned for its bold and daring approach, WAF invites artists and spectators alike to venture into uncharted territory and explore new artistic endeavours. This intimate festival offers a plethora of brand-new theatrical experiences at The Arches, nestled beneath Putney Bridge. Prepare for evenings filled with sparkling comedy, cabaret performances at The Bedford and other exciting venues. Furthermore, prepare to be transported to a realm of musical enchantment, dance, storytelling, spoken word, and more, as WAF invites you to immerse yourself in a glorious celebration of the arts.
Fringe-goers will have the opportunity to witness an opera performed in Sanskrit or embark on an intriguing exploration of the secret treasure trove of art concealed behind the front door of 575 Wandsworth Road. Delve into the rich cultural tapestry with a Peruvian dance workshop or be captivated by a pop-up street performance by Autin Dance Theatre, featuring their magnificent Sea Giant puppet, Eko. Gary Thomas will presents a witty new comedy musical, based on William Shakespeareβs infamous The Merry Wives of Windsor at The Bedford. With over 130 events spread across 17 days, Wandsworth will be a hub of creativity and artistic expression from 9 - 25 June.
The festival is designed to be inclusive and accessible to all, offering a plethora of free activities and events, as well as live performances with tickets ranging from Β£0 to Β£20. WAF invites everyone to be a part of the excitement and embrace the spirit of the summer fringe.
Since its launch in 2009, WAF has steadily grown in popularity, attracting nearly 20,000 visitors each year to Wandsworth's streets, parks, and venues. The festival's exciting and eclectic lineup has transformed it into a cultural highlight eagerly anticipated by locals and visitors alike.
