Adidas x Pitch Women's Golf Event

Sheku Kanneh-Mason & Philharmonia Chamber Players

Bored of Dating Apps London Launch Party

Supernova at the Clapham Omnibus

Breakin’ Convention 2023 at Sadler's Wells Theatre

The Breakin' Convention Festival is a celebration of hip hop culture, featuring live DJs, bespoke graffiti, freestyle sessions, and a total makeover of the foyer. The festival will take place at Sadler's Wells Theatre from 29-30 April 2023, before embarking on a UK tour from 17 May - June 2023. The festival will be preceded by events across London presented by Breakin' Convention. Les Twins, Ruben "Rubix" Noel, Laura Nala from Criminalz, and South Korean crew MOVER are among the world-renowned talent joining the festival this year. Max Revell, Gully South Block, Lauren Scott, Ghetto Funk Collective, Samuka from Ill-Abilities, La Diva aux Pieds Nus, Far From The Norm, Boy Blue, and Dutch threading artist Justin de Jager will also be performing.

Kudzanai-Violet Hwami: A Making of Ghosts

Victoria Miro Gallery presents A Making of Ghosts by Kudzanai-Violet Hwami, an art exhibition exploring grief and memory through paintings and photography. Hwami's paintings address the complexities of identity in a world saturated with images, while two poems by Ruvimbo Gumbochuma are thematically related to the artwork. Visitors can take home a poster of the poems as a token of appreciation.

Maro Gorky: A Life Painting

Long & Ryle are showcasing A Life Painting, an exhibition celebrating Maro Gorky's 80th birthday. It showcases her use of bold colours in oils, watercolours, and works on paper to depict the Tuscan countryside where she has lived for 50 years with her husband. Gorky's artistic journey from romantic landscapes to abstract patterns is reflected in the exhibition.

Steve McQueen : Grenfell

Grenfell by Steve McQueen is a film created in response to the tragic fire that occurred on14 June 2017, at Grenfell Tower in North Kensington, resulting in the death of 72 people. The film is a record of the tower before it was covered with hoarding. In the aftermath, the government launched an inquiry in two phases, and four years since the publication of the Phase One report, the recommendations are yet to be implemented. The findings of the second and final phase of the Inquiry are due to be reported in late 2023. There is an ongoing criminal investigation.

Hilma af Klint & Piet Mondrian: Forms of life

Morgan Otagburuagu: In Bloom

Doyle Wham is showcasing the first global exhibition of Nigerian self-taught photographer, Morgan Otagburuagu, featuring his latest series In Bloom, which explores the cyclical nature of life and death through the symbolism of flowers. The series represents a move towards rebirth and re-emergence after the artist's personal tragedy of losing both parents in 2021. In Bloom also has a powerful message about the beauty of dark Black skin, reflecting the artist's commitment to combating colourism in his work.

Kesewa Aboah: A lightness

Incubator 23 is a new exhibition series featuring London-based emerging artists, each presenting their first solo shows. The exhibition includes Kesewa Aboah's debut solo show, A Lightness, showcasing her unique monochromatic paintings and tapestries created with her body as the painting tool. Aboah's work explores the tactile threshold of the female form, leaving an indelible trace with poetic ambiguity.

Canary Wharf Group opens streetwear store to support youth employment

Canary Wharf Group has partnered with Circle Collective, a social enterprise, to help 250 unemployed young people in Tower Hamlets find permanent work. The partnership has resulted in a new streetwear store in Jubilee Place, staffed by young people and selling vintage clothing and global streetwear brands such as Fila, Kickers, and Dickies. The retail space will also be used for workshops, pop-ups, art shows, and ticketed events. The work experience will enable the young people to learn transferable skills such as customer service, product knowledge, cash handling, and timekeeping. Proceeds from store sales will fund the ‘back your future’ employability course run from the premises by the sister charity Circle Community. The partnership aims to support young people in gaining work experience, customer service training, and coaching to overcome obstacles to employment.
