Pattern Book by Kate Montgomery, an engaging collection of paintings inspired by her fascination with textiles and her studies in Islamic patterns, to open at Long & Ryle.
Pattern Book is an exquisite collection of paintings by Kate Montgomery, influenced by her passion for textiles and her studies in Islamic patterns. The paintings serve as an ode to stories from the past, present, and future. Montgomery's work invites viewers to look behind the curtain, delving into private moments and the quiet of domestic life, inspired by her own memories and imagination.
Through her unique artistic vision, Montgomery skillfully intertwines geometric principles and Victorian designs, creating unique compositions on small canvases painted with intense precision in casein on board. Each painting becomes a vessel brimming with narratives and nostalgia, brought to life by a vibrant and rich colour palette. Prepare to be transported into Montgomery's world, where the texture and aesthetic of her work harmoniously blend her artistic explorations and evocative emotions.
